Circle // Spring Full Moon Wisdom Circle

Drawing from a lineage of Wisdom Circles and the Way of Council practice from the Ojai Foundation, Circling is a social technology we want to introduce to our creative community. This tool has been extraordinarily powerful for healing, resolving conflict, and deepening intimacy. We're especially interested in creating feedback loops within our community and the world at large.

We will co-create a safe, sacred space to dive deep together into our deepest questions and psychosomatic worlds, allowing one another to witness and be witnessed in a way we rarely get to experience.

Please come as early as 4pm and bring a dinner potluck dish to share with the group. We'll eat an early dinner together and then open the circle in the zendo at 6pm and will have 3 hours of circle together until 9pm, when the circle will be open for free flowing connection and play. We ask that you respect this sacred container and only join if you are able to stay for the entire process.

Limited to 8 participants to maintain intimacy. Ideally this circle will occur seasonally around the equinox and solstice. Next circle will be on July 21st.

Please write directly to ting@ritual-studio.com if you are interested in attending this circle, or if you would like to join the next one.

Open Studio // Yogic Calligraphy + Tantra Flow

bauhaus.jpg

Come join us for our 6th Open Studio, this time hosted at our gorgeous artist studio space in Sausalito (shared with artists, Elle Luna and Annu Yadav). Sadly, I will be moving on May 1st, so I am excited to share this beautiful and potent space for a creative dance!

This time it'll be a little different. We'll be exploring the intersection of movement, sound, meditation with the creative process of "yogic calligraphy".

My dear friend Rebecca Thieneman will lead us in a unique TantraFlow workshop to open our senses and prime our bodies for creative flow. We'll follow the movement with a short workshop on the yogic practice of calligraphy painting to explore how our bodies can be vessels for channeling Spirit.

The rough flow is as follows:

3 - 5pm: Arrival and Open Studio. Free flow time to paint, dance, get into your own flow.

5 - 6pm: TantraFlow class led by Rebecca, from Mindful Method.

6 - 7pm: Yogic calligraphy playtime by Ting (materials provided)

7pm - 9pm: Open Studio free flowing creative time, potluck dinner, drinks, tea.

You can arrive earlier if you'd like to create in the space and witness the divine light starting at 3pm, but please arrive latest by 4:30pm to keep the container closed.

We'll have lots of rosé, tea, snacks, chocolate and potluck dinner, and have the intention to create space to enter our creative flow, and take intermittent breaks to share our work and receive deep reflection. And it'll be an opportunity to tap into our inner artist together. Please bring your yoga mat, water bottle, and whatever creative materials you want to work with. Please bring materials such as paint brushes, textiles, sketchbooks that you might want to use in addition for your own free flow.

Limited to 15 participants. Please RSVP so we can count on you and prepare enough rosé and materials! We're asking $35 to cover the cost of food and materials.

Ritual Workshops // Nomad Studio: Finding Flow in the Field

The nature of work is changing rapidly. Cubicles and GANT charts are dead. We predict that by 2050, over 75% of employees will be considered 'free agents'. If you are already an entrepreneur or creative freelancer or are managing a remote team, you are intimately aware of the importance of clear process and structure for increasing productivity. The challenge is how do you cultivate real creative flow in the field with the minimum viable structure?

We’ll be sharing and practicing with real tools and practices that we’ve employed in the field for the last 10 years, from high-end corporate innovation bootcamps in Berlin to scrappy field research and prototyping in Rwanda. You’ll leave with a practical toolkit of processes, habits and reviewed tools that we’ve created that can be scaled across any industry, size and location. You’ll practice through exercises with co-learners and be able to apply and commit to practices in your own work. The workshop is designed to be an interactive and immersive learning experience, so don't expect to lean back.

This workshop is designed for people who are already familiar and even practicing creatives in the field (outside an office), but who want to increase their productivity and creativity with more ease and freedom. This workshop is specially designed for creatives who work independently or within small teams and want to learn how to bring a fresh approach to their creative process.

Cost: $150*. This first workshop is an early prototype of an intensive workshop series on The Nomad Studio that we are developing, thus why we are asking you to participate in the prototyping process. Future workshops will be more expensive.

*Workshop cost includes a healthy California lunch & bites on both days, as well a Nomad Studio starter kit.

Who: You'll be facilitated by the Ritual Studio team in a beautiful and safe space to experiment, practice and play together in real-time. Each participant is invited through our creative network. We value intimacy over wide reach, and specifically design the experience to integrate a holistic approach towards learning: from embodied practices all the way to conceptual visualizations to anecdotal examples.

Please arrive by 11:00am to grab lunch so we can get started by 12pm. Please be on time.

Open Studio // Feb 18 // Flow Together

Come join us for our 5th Open Studio at the Wabi Sabi Lookout, our beautiful home and creative studio nested above Muir Woods.

We are creating the time & space to co-work on whatever creative project you've been longing to jam on, but just can't seem to find the time during the week. We'll help hold the container with 25-minute "Pomodoro sprints", sprinkled with movement and dance breaks. There will be activating music, nourishing food and just enough structure to keep us on the road.

We'll have a potluck brunch, create space to enter our creative flow, and take intermittent breaks to share our work and receive deep reflection. We may even go for a sunset hike on Mt. Tam when the day ripens.

Please bring a brunch potluck dish and whatever creative materials you want to work with. We ask that you arrive by latest 1pm to be in sync with our collective flow.

Limited to 10 participants. Please RSVP so we can count on you and prepare enough food for everyone.

Ritual Workshops // Experience Design for Creative Emergence

We are entering the new Experience Economy. Experience Design is becoming more and more relevant and necessary in the hyper-digital age.

This workshop is designed for people who have a passion at the intersection of people x place x culture. It is for people who are highly-attuned to space, interpersonal social dynamics and vibe, and who seek rich experiences. This is specifically designed for people in positions that deal with the “human interface” - such as community building, fundraising, leadership development and marketing.

You’ll learn the underlying patterns that create transformative learning experiences, and the most potent examples of ancient and modern frameworks that have been used to unleash the potential of a group. You’ll leave with a practical toolkit of processes, rituals and simple tools that we’ve created that can be scaled across any industry, size and location. You’ll practice with exercises with co-learners and be able to apply and commit to practices in your own work. The workshop is designed to be an interactive learning experience that is both conceptual and tactical.

Workshop includes a coffee & tea, light bites as well as learning materials.

See the full event description here

Invite-only. Maximum of 10 participants. Please reach out if there is someone you think should join this.

Cost: $150. This first workshop is an early prototype of a much larger weekend workshop series on Experience Design that we are developing, thus why we are asking you to participate in the prototyping process. Prices will likely increase in 2018.

Ritual Films // Koyaanisqatsi

Koyanisqaatsi (1983) by Godfrey Regio

From Carson: "Koyanisqaatsi literally changed my life. The seamless integration of sound and image, the fruit of a beautiful collaboration between director Godfrey Reggio and composer Philip Glass, is itself a masterpiece. But the real story of Koyanisqaatsi is that it has none. No story, no dialogue, no narrator. It's an epic work of visual poetry, juxtaposing imagery of man and his environment.  It's up to us, the audience, to find our own connections in the reflection of our society."

More about the film here.

We will serve a healthy vegan dinner before the film and tea + chocolate after the film. If you feel inspired, please bring some appetizers/snacks for the films, and beverages.

Limited to 8 spots. Please RSVP using the link below.

We ask for a $10 donation to cover food costs.

We'll start the film promptly at 7:30pm so please arrive on time by 7pm.

Ritual Film Night // The Century of the Self

Sigmund Freud changed the world with his theories. This documentary asks deeper questions about the roots of creating a culture of consumerism and commodification, and how it affects our sense of self, identity and relationship. We will engage in a critical discussion together guided by key questions brought up in the film.

More about the film here.

We will serve a healthy vegan dinner before the film and tea after the film. If you feel inspired, please bring some appetizers/snacks for the films, and beverages (preferably non-alcoholic).
